Oklahoma delivered its Illinois River waterquality report to the Arkansas-Oklahoma Arkansas River Compact Commission onSeptember 24, 2020 in a virtual meeting dur to the coronavirus.
The report shows that phosphorus loading of the Illinois River and its tributaries, Barren Fork Creek and Flint Creek, has increased dramatically (by 63-percent at Tahlequah, Oklahoma).
Oklahoma's phosphorus limit of 0.037 mg/L, adopted in 2020, was exceeded greatly at the state border at Watts, Oklahoma and downstream at Tahlequah.
