Agreement for Illinois River Water Quality Protection

This is the agreement (memorandum of agreement) signed by Arkansas and Oklahoma in November 2018 for the protection of water quality for the Illinois River including the instream phosphorus limit of 0.037 mg/L total phosphorus.


For Save the Illinois River's position on this agreement see the Articles section of this site.  STIR and other organizations originally petitioned Oklahoma to enforce the phosphorus limit of 0.037 mg/L. The organizations included:  STIR, Sierra Club, Conservation Coalition of Oklahoma, Trout Unlimited, the Greater Tenkiller Area Association and Oklahomans for Responsible Water Policy.
