This is just a reminder that our next Special Virtual Documentary Night will be THIS SUNDAY, April 19th at 7:00 PM Eastern Time. This Special Virtual Documentary Night is in collaboration with Inside Animal Ag, The Humane League (THL), Wholesome Minnesota, Unitarian Universalist Animal Ministry (UUAM), Colorado Voters For Animals (CVA), the Reducetarian Foundation, and the Sierra Club Metro Atlanta Group. Inside Animal Ag is a nonprofit research-based guide to the structure and impacts of U.S. factory farming. They cover the whole system from feed crops to slaughterhouses, along with the wide-ranging effects on animals, society, and the natural world. THL is an international nonprofit organization that works to end the abuse of animals raised for food through corporate, media and community outreach. Wholesome Minnesota is a program from the non profit Compassionate Action for Animals, whose mission is to help Minnesota’s food service leaders to simplify the process of creating culturally inclusive, healthy, money-saving, and climate-friendly menus. UUAM is a group of concerned Unitarian Universalists and friends who desire to express their faith, in part, through their compassion and respect for all beings. CVA is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization whose mission has been to identify and help elect animal-friendly lawmakers, and then work with them to pass sensible animal welfare and protection laws. The Reducetarian Foundation is a nonprofit organization working to reduce societal consumption of animal products to improve human health, protect the environment, and spare farmed animals from cruelty. Their inclusive approach acknowledges the importance of all dietary changes, big or small. The Sierra Club Metro Atlanta Group comprises the largest Sierra Club membership within the Georgia Chapter and is dedicated to exploring, preserving and protecting the environment within the Atlanta area.
For this event we are meeting in honor of Earth Month to talk about the film, Common Enemy. Oklahoma has a growing factory farming problem. The state leads the nation in foreign-owned agricultural land, and the death of the small family farm is a theme that lingers throughout the heartland. Corporate animal agriculture is taking over the state, destroying the land, and making life for animals hell on earth. The citizens, the environment, and the animals in Oklahoma have a common enemy—factory farming. Adam Peditto (Director, Co-Writer), Jason & Jennie Hays (Founders of Oliver and Friends Rescue Farm and Sanctuary), Pamela Kingfisher (Organizer, Director of Green County Guardians), Ed Brocksmith (Co-Founder of Save The Illinois River) will be joining us for a special guest Q&A! Here is a link to where you can watch the film for free.
