Attorneys for the state Attorney General’s Office and three poultry companies made
their best pitches to a judge Friday as to why he should accept
agreements settling a long-running Illinois River pollution lawsuit.
The three proposed consent judgments with various Tyson, Cargill and
Peterson Farms companies would bring an end to civil litigation that has
been pending since 2005 should U.S. District Judge Gregory Frizzell
agree to the settlements.
