Controversy Over Arkansas Sewer Plants Escalates

Please note:  The original article in the Northwest Arkansas Online newspaper contained a misstatement that has since been corrected by editors.  The lawsuit filed by Oklahoma against Arkansas poultry companies for polluting the Illinois River has not been ruled on by Gregory Kent Frizzell, United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma.  Oklahoma did not lose the lawsuit.

ADEQ Asks Court to Override EPA Objections to Wastewater Treatment Permits -

EPA wants limits reduced by 10%  by Doug Thompson and Laurinda Joenks-May 22, 2022

Dear Judge Frizzell.  With Respect Sir, Isn't it time you ruled on Oklahoma's poultry lawsuit?

Like many others, we are puzzled by the lack of action by Judge Frizzell on Oklahoma's poultry lawsuit. Known as the  "Bus Loads of Lawyers Case", it has been nearly 17 years since the suit was filed by former Oklahoma Attorney General Drew Edmondson. The race is underway for the next Oklahoma Attorney General.  The A.G. could have a critical impact on this apparent failure of our federal judiciary by asking for a ruling.  You can quiz the candidates about this.  Here is how to do it:

Incumbent: John O'Connor, Republican, campaign phone number 918

217-4366.  Campaign web page.

Candidate:  Gentner Drummond, Republican, campaign phone number

918-938-3709.   Campaign web page.

Independent: Lynda Steele, no campaign web page was immediately found.  However, here are links to background on Steele.

Lynda Steele forms organization.

No Democratic candidate is in this contest.

Info on the June 28th Republican Primary Election for Oklahoma Attorney General.

NonDoc’s political debate series will continue next month with Law School: A Republican primary debate between Oklahoma Attorney General John O’Connor and challenger Gentner Drummond. The two GOP attorney general candidates will square off at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, at the Oklahoma City Community College Visual Performing Arts Center, 7777 S. May Ave.

Let's throw a party and attend the debate.  Refreshments afterwards will be in order.  What do you think?
