WE ARE ON ALERT NOW!

THE OKLAHOMA WATER RESOURCES BOARD (OWRB) IS REVISING THE RULE THAT PROTECTS THE ILLINOIS RIVER, BARREN FORK CREEK AND FLINT CREEK FROM PHOSPHORUS POLLUTION.

LET'S PAY ATTENTION AND SPEAK OUT LOUDLY IF NEEDED.  THE OWRB COULD GIVE THE ILLINOIS RIVER GREATER PROTECTION FROM POLLUTING PHOSPHORUS  FROM CHICKEN WASTE BY HOW THIS RULE IS REWRITTEN.

WE MUST BE ALERT.  ATTEND THE WEBINARS.  STAND BY FOR ACTION.
The Oklahoma Water Resources Board (OWRB) has conducted the first of three webinars on phosphorus in Oklahoma Scenic Rivers.  This issue is critical to the health of the Illinois River and especially to Lake Tenkiller.Remaining webinar dates:  Tuesday September 22, 2020 at 7:00 pm

STIR members played a major part in getting the 0.037 mg/L phosphorus limit adopted in 2002, generating over 500 supportive comments to the OWRB and beating back opposition from those who don't appreciate our scenic rivers including the Oklahoma Farm Bureau.

STIR URGES YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THESE WEBINARS AND TO PROTECT OKLAHOMA SCENIC RIVERS ALL SOURCES OF PHOSPHORUS POLLUTION.
